An unnamed acquaintance of mine sent me this photo that his parents took while on a recent visit to Libya, and he has kindly given me permission to post it (merci, GM!). I know it ain't Germany, but it's too precious to let it lie and not circulate it to my ever-swelling Molvanian fanklub.

that is a beautiful thing. what exactly is the green symbol on top, next to the "No drugs" symbol? All I can make out is a water/oil drop, and maybe a syringe behind the foldy-M shape? Fantastic.

hmmm, it would be cute if it didn't threaten the unsuspecting passerby with thoughts of armageddon (or something close to it). There's a helluva lot here - not the least of which being who the hell is this aimed at? Clearly, non-natives, but where from? Not tourists? And certainly not all the sub-Saharan refugees gathering in Libya while trying to make it to Italy or elsewhere in the EU? And what about the graphic on the top left? I don't quite get what it's supposed to illustrate....
